KLM Launches Final Test Phase of Buy-on-Board Catering on Select European Routes

KLM has launched the final test phase of its new onboard catering service on select European routes from March 29 through April 25, 2026. The trial covers flights to Madrid, Valencia, Helsinki, Oslo, and Birmingham. Under this model, Economy Class passengers receive a complimentary drink and snack, with the option to purchase additional items. Customers can preorder meals when booking or via MyTrip. On most routes, additional items are available for purchase onboard throughout the flight (except during taxi, takeoff, and landing). Payment options include credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, and Flying Blue Miles. This follows a year-long trial that began in February 2025 on routes to Oslo, Lisbon, and Porto. The airline is using this extended period to refine the service before potentially rolling it out network-wide
