JetBlue to Discontinue 5 Newark Routes in July 2026

JetBlue is cutting five of its 12 year-round routes from Newark (EWR) effective July 8, 2026, including services to Aruba, Cancun, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, and Tampa

What happened

JetBlue is making significant network changes as it shifts focus to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) following Spirit's liquidation. As part of this strategy, JetBlue will discontinue flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to five destinations effective July 8, 2026: Aruba (AUA), Cancun (CUN), Punta Cana (PUJ), Santo Domingo (SDQ), and Tampa (TPA). This reduction leaves JetBlue with seven year-round routes from EWR, primarily Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Juan, Santiago de los Caballeros, and West Palm Beach. The move strengthens United's fortress hub at Newark and aligns with JetBlue's Blue Sky partnership, though it reduces direct competition for spill traffic
