Flying Blue Standard awards cost 20% to 25% more miles from Sept 8

What happened

Air France-KLM will stop selling a single Flying Blue award ticket on September 8, 2026 and switch to Light, Standard or Flex fares. New bookings on or after that date use the new fares. Existing tickets are unchanged.

Non-elite members who want a checked bag and the ability to change must book Standard, which costs 20% to 25% more miles than current awards and carries a €70 fee for each change or refund. Economy and Premium Light awards include no checked bags and cannot be changed or refunded. Seat selection is paid on Light and Standard awards except where elite benefits still apply. Flex includes bags and free seat selection. Changes and refunds are free. Business Flex also includes lounge access.

Platinum and Ultimate members keep bags and free changes or cancellations on Light fares, along with advance seats. Silver members keep an extra bag and SkyPriority. Gold members also keep lounge access. Business Light does not include lounge access unless elite benefits apply.

Non-elites who need a bag or a changeable ticket should book before September 8, 2026 to keep current mileage and rules.
