Flying Blue strips lounge access on cheapest awards from 8 September

What happened

Non-elite Flying Blue members will lose lounge access on the cheapest newly issued Air France and KLM awards from 8 September, and those tickets will no longer allow changes or cancellations.

The limits apply only to newly issued awards at the cheapest rates. Awards issued before 8 September keep lounge access and the current change and cancel rules for later travel.

Miles to Memories found 60,000-mile CDG-JFK business awards on a selection of dates before and after 8 September. The same post says Flying Blue Platinum keeps richer award perks and can be earned with Bank of America Air France KLM cards alone.

Book the cheapest Air France and KLM awards before 8 September to keep lounge access and the ability to change or cancel.
