What happened
From 10 August 2026, Emirates tickets destined for Dubai can be date-changed as often as needed with no change fee. Refund fees are US$50 on Economy Saver fares and US$25 on Economy Flex. Business Special and Saver refund fees are US$50, with Business Flex at US$25. Changes stay inside ticket validity.
A separate rule gives one free date change on any Emirates itinerary booked from 2 April 2026, including connections via Dubai. Fares can be held for 24 hours at no charge. Unlimited changes and those refund fees apply only when Dubai is the destination, not a transit or a ticket to another city. The network-wide date change is free only once. Passengers still pay any fare difference.
The rules are meant for travellers nervous about going to Dubai and the Gulf. A cash ticket to Dubai can be moved repeatedly or refunded for US$25 or US$50 if those plans are uncertain.
Use the extra flexibility on a Dubai trip that may need to move or cancel, and budget for any fare difference.
