Cathay Pacific to Retrofit A321neo Fleet with New Cabin Layout

Cathay Pacific is reconfiguring its Airbus A321neo fleet to remove seven seats for increased comfort, including better economy pitch and spacious lavatories, with completion expected by end of 2026

What happened

Cathay Pacific is implementing a cabin reconfiguration on its Airbus A321neo aircraft to improve passenger and crew comfort. The new layout reduces total seats from 202 to 195 (12 business, 183 economy) by removing seats to increase economy seat pitch from 30 inches. Key changes include moving rear lavatories forward to create more space, increasing rear galley size, and altering emergency exit row configurations (from one mid-cabin/rear set to two mid-cabin sets). The first aircraft with the new layout is arriving shortly, with the retrofitting of the remaining 16 existing planes expected to be completed by the end of 2026
