What happened
World of Hyatt members can buy points at 2.08 cents each through December 21, 2026 if they purchase at least 3,000 points in a single online transaction. The sale started October 20, 2026 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on December 21. The usual annual cap of 55,000 points is raised to 110,000 for this sale.
Members must have held a World of Hyatt account for at least 60 days. Only online purchases qualify. Points.com processes the orders and they are supposed to post within 48 hours. Purchased points are not refundable and transactions cannot be reversed. They do not count toward elite status. Buying the 110,000-point maximum costs $2,288.
AwardWallet users have gotten 2.19 cents per point on average when redeeming Hyatt points, before the recent award-chart change. At 2.08 cents, the sale price sits below that average. Buying can undercut cash rates on some award nights if you already have a stay in mind.
Buy only to complete a planned award stay before December 21, 2026; do not stockpile, because purchases are non-refundable and Hyatt can devalue.
