What happened

World of Hyatt will let members transfer points to other members on its website from October 15, 2026, replacing the signed-form process and adding annual caps of 525,000 points sent and 525,000 points received.

Until now, both members had to sign a PDF and send it to [email protected] or by mail. Typical processing ran 48-72 hours and sometimes longer, so a wanted room could vanish before points landed. Combining was limited to once every 30 days and had no yearly points cap. Hyatt has not said whether that 30-day rule remains. Instant posting is also unconfirmed. It is unclear if combining earlier in 2026 counts against the new allowance. Hyatt will publish the full terms only when the tool launches.

Transfers between members have never needed a shared address or a family relationship. Category 8 nights cost 75,000 points. A four-night stay in two Category 8 rooms runs 600,000 points and would exceed the receive cap.

Open the new tool on October 15, 2026, read the terms that day, and stay inside the 525,000-point annual send and receive caps.
