What happened
American Express is crediting targeted cardholders $100 when they spend $500 or more on eligible Peninsula Hotels room charges that post between August 21 and November 30, 2026. The offer is limited to accounts that received it.
Qualifying spend can come from a single stay or from several room-rate and room-charge postings. Bookings must go through peninsula.com. Gift cards do not count. Neither do third-party reservations. Prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts stays may fail because Amex, not the hotel, is the merchant. Hotel-billed Virtuoso and Peninsula PenClub stays are expected to count.
The bill can be split so the card with the offer takes $500. At that threshold the credit is up to 20% off. Amex ran the same offer in this seasonal window last year.
Add the offer if it appears on the account and charge at least $500 in hotel-billed Peninsula room charges by November 30, 2026.
