What happened
American Airlines opened bookings on September 24, 2026 for STARLUX-operated flights to Taipei from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Ontario, Calif., with travel from September 30. Phoenix to Taipei is planned as well, pending regulatory approval. Tickets in every cabin are on aa.com and the American app.
Miles and Loyalty Points post for AAdvantage members only on STARLUX segments sold with an American flight number. Flights ticketed by STARLUX do not credit. Award redemption and extra elite benefits have not launched. The two airlines say those will be added later.
The STARLUX business cabin uses lie-flat seats behind a privacy door. Premium economy includes a leg rest and a retractable footrest.
Book American-coded STARLUX flights on aa.com from September 30, 2026 for AAdvantage earning, and leave miles unmoved until redemption is added.
