American Airlines is introducing its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, featuring a pared-down version of its Flagship Suites business class, to replace older A321s on premium transcontinental routes. The aircraft will operate flights from New York City's JFK and Boston Logan (BOS) to Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO), as well as select transatlantic routes like JFK to Edinburgh (EDI). The Flagship Suites offer increased privacy compared to older transcontinental seats, excellent entertainment systems, and are available for cash upgrades or AAdvantage mile redemptions. For example, a one-way JFK-LAX upgrade was offered for $885 or 96,900 miles, providing a discount over the full cash fare of $1,866. The airline aims to have the suite doors fully operational soon
