What happened

Alaska Airlines put tickets on sale for Boeing 787-9 nonstops from Seattle to Athens 3 times a week from May 12, 2027, and from Seattle to Paris 5 times a week from May 25, 2027. Athens will operate as AS196 and AS197. Paris will operate as AS136 and AS137. The 787-9s carry 34 business-class seats and 266 economy seats.

The 6,197-mile Athens route will be Alaska's longest flight and the first regular nonstop between Seattle and Athens. Athens service is seasonal, with flying planned only into October 2027. Paris already has Air France and Delta nonstops. Alaska timed the Paris flights to allow same-day Honolulu connections. The airline said Atmos Rewards members drove the choice of cities and that it wants more than 12 international long-haul routes from Seattle.

Some premium award seats have loaded in Atmos Rewards, but premium cabin space is already limited.

Check cash fares and Atmos Rewards premium seats for the 2027 flights now, since inventory is already thin.
