What happened
Capital One is adding 20% on miles sent to British Airways Avios until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on October 21, 2026. Only a transfer into British Airways earns the extra Avios. A direct move into another Avios airline does not qualify.
The 20% rate trails the 30% Avios bonuses Amex and Chase often post, and the 40% versions that sometimes appear. Iberia business class to or from Europe starts at 40,500 Avios one way. Qatar Airways business from the United States to Doha books at 70,000 Avios with low surcharges. Fuel surcharges on British Airways metal stay very high, which makes Iberia and partner awards the stronger redemption. A 36-month stretch with no Avios activity triggers expiration.
Terms appear only in the Capital One account. Move miles only if a Capital One balance is already on hand for a planned Avios redemption, ahead of the October 21, 2026 cutoff.
