United to Resume Nonstop Houston-Caracas Service Starting Aug. 11

United Airlines will launch daily nonstop flights between Houston (IAH) and Caracas (CCS) starting August 11, 2026, ending a nearly 10-year hiatus. Service is pending final government approval

What happened

United Airlines is set to resume nonstop service between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston and Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Caracas, Venezuela. Daily flights will begin on August 11, 2026, pending final government approval. This marks United's return to Venezuela after cutting service in June 2017 due to low demand and political unrest. The route will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The daily departure from Houston is at 11:45 p.m., arriving in Caracas at 5:30 a.m. the following morning. The return flight departs Caracas at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Houston at 12:30 p.m. Award availability is not yet available for booking. Standard fares start at $1,465 for a round-trip journey in September. This follows American Airlines' resumption of MIA-CCS service two weeks prior, as the U.S. government lifted its 2019 ban on flights to Venezuela
