What happened
On August 14, 2026, Hyatt will cancel without penalty any Chatwal stay after September 29, 2026, when the Unbound Collection hotel leaves World of Hyatt. Care teams are offering to move those bookings to a nearby same-category Hyatt and have named Andaz 5th Avenue.
Guests who booked through an online travel agency or other third party must contact that provider. Minor Hotels plans to reopen the Midtown Manhattan landmark in early 2027 as The Wolseley Hotel New York, the brand's first hotel, with 76 guest rooms and suites. Once it reopens, the hotel will sit in GHA Discovery rather than World of Hyatt.
The hotel is making its third brand change in four years. World of Hyatt members lose a Manhattan Unbound Collection option for award nights and elite stays.
Move any Chatwal stay after September 29, 2026 through Hyatt or the original booking channel, and do not plan later awards there.
