What happened

Marriott has signed an agreement with Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners to manage the Resort at Kapalua Bay in Maui, which will convert to the St. Regis brand. Marriott's management began on March 14, 2026, and the property is currently open while undergoing renovations. The full conversion to St. Regis is scheduled for 2027. The property features 146 multi-bedroom ocean-view residences ranging from 1,774 to 4,050 square feet. It is located on 25 acres within the Kapalua Resort community, less than a mile from the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua. The resort includes a 40,000-square-foot spa, multiple pools, and access to championship golf and tennis. Although not yet a St. Regis, the property is part of Marriott STARS, allowing guests to access perks like breakfast and hotel credit. This marks the return of the St. Regis brand to Hawaii, following the 2022 rebranding of the St. Regis Princeville Resort to 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay
