What happened
RBC Avion is paying Avion Elite members a 15% bonus on transfers to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles from September 14 through October 16, 2026. The standard rate is 1:1, so 10,000 Avion points become 11,500 Asia Miles.
The bonus miles post separately from the base transfer and can take up to 4 weeks. Amounts above 10,000 points can be sent in 1-point increments. Only Avion Elite members with RBC Avion cards qualify. Avion Premium and RBC ION+ cardholders cannot transfer to Asia Miles. Dates run on Pacific time, so the cutoff in Eastern Canada is 2:59 a.m. on October 17.
The last Avion bonus to Asia Miles was in spring 2025, and a transfer restarts the 18-month inactivity expiry. There is no concurrent Avion bonus to British Airways or American Airlines. Bonuses to Asia Miles are infrequent, and Cathay Pacific and British Airways awards still show better member-only space after recent devaluations.
Confirm award space first, then transfer at least 10,000 Avion points before the Pacific-time window closes on October 16, 2026.
