Marriott Platinum from DiDi China pilot already selling for $15

What happened

A LoyaltyLobby reader reports that Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite from a limited DiDi V8 pilot in mainland China is already listed on Chinese resale platforms for a little over RMB 100, about $15. The 180-day grant started August 31, 2026. DiDi can attach the status to a Bonvoy account without matching the member’s verified name, a control Marriott required on its earlier Fliggy deal.

DiDi accepts existing Bonvoy accounts. Keeping Platinum takes 25 qualifying nights inside the 180-day window, or status falls to Gold Elite. Meituan’s challenge is limited to new Bonvoy accounts and requires 8 nights. Resellers open a Meituan account then connect DiDi V8, so a buyer receives 180 days of Platinum while needing 8 nights to keep it. The link uses the buyer’s Bonvoy login. The owner can be anywhere.

The same missing name check on Meituan lets the benefit sit on accounts outside mainland China. LoyaltyLobby says the China-only limit is mostly unenforced. Do not buy resold Platinum or share a Bonvoy login; watch whether Marriott adds real-name matching or stops buyers from combining the Meituan and DiDi offers.
