Affects 6 airline programs (Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines...). Spans 5 hotel programs (Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Marriott...). Likely a devaluation — book before any cutoff if applicable.
What happened
Marriott Bonvoy has raised the 'top off' limit for its free night certificates. Previously, members could use up to 15,000 points to cover the cost of a certificate that exceeded its face value. The new limit allows topping off with up to 25,000 points. This change effectively expands the usable range of free night certificates to higher-tier properties, enhancing the certificate's value for members redeeming for stays that cost between 15,001 and 25,000 points
