What happened
Ultimate Rewards transfers to World of Hyatt fall from 1:1 to 4:3 on October 1, 2026 for Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred accounts. Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business continue to transfer at 1:1.
A balance of 100,000 Ultimate Rewards will convert to 75,000 Hyatt points rather than 100,000. The same Hyatt award will cost 33% more Chase points, so 60,000 Hyatt points will require 80,000 Ultimate Rewards. The Points Guy says Sapphire Preferred cards opened before June 15 are among those affected. September 30, 2026 is the last day to transfer at 1:1 on those cards.
Points sent to Hyatt cannot come back to Chase. Transfer only with a Hyatt stay already planned; otherwise keep the points in Ultimate Rewards or combine them into a Sapphire Reserve.
