What happened
JetBlue has officially named its upcoming domestic first-class cabin BlueFirst and confirmed the rollout timeline. The product will begin appearing on aircraft in October 2026, with approximately 20 planes reconfigured per month. The goal is to have the product on a vast majority of the non-Mint fleet by the end of 2027. BlueFirst will be installed on all JetBlue planes that do not currently feature the Mint business class product. The airline selected the Collins Aerospace MiQ seat, the same product found in American Airlines' domestic first class. While initial plans suggested specific seat counts (8 on A220s, 12 on A320s/A321s), recent filings indicate a configuration of three to four rows across all aircraft types, likely resulting in 12 seats on A220s/A320s and 16 on A321s. JetBlue expects overall aircraft capacity to remain roughly the same despite the new cabin. Details on the specific service offering (e.g., food, amenities) remain limited, though cold meals are expected due to the lack of ovens on non-Mint aircraft
