What happened
The Hong Kong MTR has expanded its in-town check-in service for the Airport Express, adding more airlines to the facility at Hong Kong and Kowloon stations. As of July 2026, six airlines are available: Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, and Mandarin Airlines. Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Mandarin Airlines are available at Hong Kong Station, while Hong Kong Airlines and Qantas are also available at Kowloon Station (though Kowloon has limited airline availability). The service allows passengers to check baggage and complete formalities before taking the train to the airport, bypassing terminal lines. Access requires passing through a ticket barrier; passengers are charged for the train ride upon exit. Cathay Pacific offers the most expansive hours at Hong Kong Station (6:00 am to 11:00 pm), while its Kowloon hours close at 3:00 pm. Additionally, MTR is offering 50% off taxi feeder fares when presenting a taxi receipt, valid through March 11, 2026
