What happened
Singapore Airlines is refunding unused tickets on cancelled Singapore to Dubai flights SQ494 and SQ495 through 28 February 2027 rather than rebooking passengers on other airlines. The carrier attributes the cancellations to the Middle East geopolitical situation and says conditions remain fluid, with other flights possibly affected.
Direct Singapore Airlines bookings should request a refund of the unused portion through the airline's Assistance Request Form. Tickets bought through travel agents or partner airlines must go through those sellers. The airline's form cannot handle those refunds. Passengers are told to update contact details in Manage Booking or via mobile alerts. SIA also directs them to its Flight Status page.
Award and paid tickets on the Singapore to Dubai route remain unusable through early 2027, with a refund of the unused portion as the only remedy SIA is citing. If you hold SQ494 or SQ495 tickets through 28 February 2027, request a refund of the unused portion through the right channel and keep contact details current.
