What happened
On October 22, 2026, Hilton Honors began letting elite members apply points to folio charges in the app's digital checkout, with any leftover billed to the card on file. The pilot is limited to Silver through Diamond Reserve guests of record with a points balance at 150 U.S. hotels. Base members cannot use it.
Hilton expects more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026 and more than 6,000 U.S. and Canada properties in early 2027. Eligible guests get a pre-arrival email confirming the stay can use the feature. Redemption works only in the app, and front desk agents cannot apply it. Checkout does not always show the option. Multiple rooms on the same reservation can be covered if each room is selected. Which hotels participate and which charges qualify can differ by property. Pay with Points is separate from Points & Money, which already offsets a stay at booking.
Hilton has not published a redemption rate. LoyaltyLobby flags a risk that the implied Honors value sits too low against award nights.
Skip large folio redemptions until the implied value is clear, and watch for more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026.
