Hawaiian Airlines officially retired its two-letter IATA designator code 'HA' on April 22, 2026, replacing it with Alaska Airlines' 'AS' code across all operations. This follows a two-step process: first, flight numbers were renumbered to the 800-1299 range in October 2025; second, the code itself was switched. The 'HA' code had been in continuous use since 1929. Despite the code change, Hawaiian maintains its distinct brand identity, including crew announcements and branding on aircraft.
