Chase plans a 16,000-square-foot Sapphire Lounge in Seattle

What happened

View from the Wing reports that Chase is seeking a 15-year lease at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport for a 16,000-square-foot Sapphire Lounge, with a vote set for September 22. Chase would invest $70 million in the initial build-out and a midterm refurbishment.

The lounge would take The Club at SEA's current space plus a canceled expansion next to the Delta lounge complex. United is moving its club to an expanded former Centurion space on the B concourse and leaving its A concourse club. The Club at SEA would occupy that old United Club so Chase and Airport Dimensions can rebuild the vacated space. Relocation timing is unclear, and Priority Pass users are likely to face a stretch with no lounge at SEA.

Chase Sapphire Reserve personal and business cardmembers would get standard access with up to two guests. Employee cards on small business accounts are excluded. J.P. Morgan Reserve and Ritz-Carlton cardmembers qualify too. Extra guests cost $27 each. Seattle would help bring Chase to a network of 12 lounges. Watch the September 22 vote and later news on when The Club at SEA closes.
