What happened
An Iranian drone struck Dubai International Airport (DXB) Terminal 3, causing significant damage and four staff injuries. The airport has implemented contingency plans, evacuating terminals. DXB is closed until at least 3 PM local time on Sunday, March 1, 2026, with potential for further extension. Emirates, which uses DXB as its primary hub, shut down operations early Saturday, halting flights for over a day. The Fairmont The Palm Dubai hotel was also hit by a drone, resulting in a major fire. This event marks a direct impact on aviation infrastructure from the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict
