Delta Cuts 2 Austin Routes, Adds New California Flight

Delta Air Lines will end daily service from Austin to Memphis (Nov 1) and New Orleans (Nov 16), while adding new daily service to San Jose (Oct 6)

What happened

Delta Air Lines is adjusting its network at Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), its fast-growing focus city. According to Cirium schedule data, Delta will end two daily routes in November: Memphis (MEM) on Nov. 1 and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) on Nov. 16. Both routes began in 2025. Simultaneously, Delta is adding new daily service to San Jose's Mineta International Airport (SJC) starting Oct. 6. This addition helps offset the cuts, with total seats from AUS increasing 14% year-over-year. The move comes as Delta expands its presence in Texas, where it lacks a hub. Southwest Airlines is responding by adding the AUS-MEM route (6 weekly flights starting Oct. 1) and expanding its own gate count at AUS
