What happened
Citi is paying a 25% bonus on ThankYou Point transfers to Avianca LifeMiles until 11:59 p.m. ET on October 24, 2026. Premium cards receive 1,250 LifeMiles per 1,000 ThankYou Points. Select no-annual-fee cards receive 875 miles per 1,000 points.
Holders of the Strata Elite or Prestige get the 1,250 rate, matching the Strata Premier and AT&T Access More. Transfers need a LifeMiles number registered in advance and at least 1,000 ThankYou Points. Miles often post within a day but can take up to five business days.
LifeMiles can ticket United without extra carrier surcharges. Domestic United one-ways start at 7,500 LifeMiles, or 6,000 Citi points during the bonus. Business class from New York (JFK) to Zurich (ZRH) costs 55,000 LifeMiles, or 44,000 Citi points. Partner space that still appears in other Star Alliance programs is often unavailable in LifeMiles. Changing or cancelling a LifeMiles award is prohibitively expensive.
Transfer only against an award that is bookable today, and finish before 11:59 p.m. ET on October 24.
