What happened
Ascott Star Rewards is still matching competing elites as high as Platinum on a one-time basis, now including Cathay Pacific, with proof of a stay in the last 18 months. The Cathay link is one-way and does not grant Cathay status in return.
Elites from competing hotel programs and airlines can apply. OTA status holders and American Express members qualify, as do OCBC and UOB bank elites. Unlisted programs can be submitted as Other. Apply on the status-match site or by email with the ASR-registered name plus status and stay proof.
ASR allows 10 business days to process a request and may take another 10 if extra checks are needed. The match is once per account lifetime and cannot be transferred. ASR may decline any application.
Matched members then have 12 consecutive months to meet the Qualifying Amount or they fall to the tier their spend supports. Platinum free breakfast is only available in Europe. Submit a match if qualifying elite status is already in hand, then requalify on spend within 12 months.
