What happened
Citi ThankYou Rewards opened transfers to Copa ConnectMiles on October 25, at 1:1 on annual-fee cards and 1,000 points for 700 miles on cards with no annual fee. Strata Elite and Strata Premier get a mile per point. No-annual-fee products such as Strata and Double Cash move at a 1:0.7 ratio.
Copa still prices on a zone chart with cheaper saver space and higher-cost standard awards, though saver inventory is limited. Miles book Copa and Star Alliance awards. Emirates partner awards carry no fuel surcharges. Round-trip Copa awards can include a free stopover and 2 open-jaws. The Panama hub reaches more than 80 destinations in the Americas and can also be used for United and Air Canada awards. United Europe awards may not match published region charts and can take extra searches.
Transfer annual-fee ThankYou points against a bookable Copa or partner award and leave no-fee balances unconverted at 700 miles per 1,000 points.
