WestJet Rewards will raise Silver Tier Qualifying Spend to $5,000 from 1 January 2027, with Gold moving to $8,000 and Platinum to $15,000. The old bars were $4,000 for Silver and $6,000 for Gold, with Platinum at $10,000. Elite benefits at each tier are not changing.
The increase is the second TQS hike in two years after 1 January 2025. Relative to 2018 to 2024, Silver is 67% higher and Gold is 60% higher. Platinum is 87.5% higher. WestJet said Platinum membership has doubled since early 2025. The airline said the new thresholds are meant to protect lounge access and priority services as fares inflate on a spend program.
A 50% TQS bonus applies to travel in the first quarter of 2027 when the ticket is issued in 2026. The WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard and the business card credit $300 TQS per $5,000 spent on each of the first 10 Status Lifts in 2027, up from $200, and the yearly lift cap rises from 50 to 75. Qualifying on card spend alone still takes $100,000 for Silver.
Ticket flights for the first quarter of 2027 during 2026 to bank the 50% TQS bonus if 2027 status is required.
