What happened
Chase has cut the Ultimate Rewards transfer rate to World of Hyatt to 4:3 on Sapphire Preferred cards opened on or after June 15, 2026. Existing Sapphire Preferred holders keep 1:1 until Oct. 1, then move to 4:3 with all Ink Business Preferred cardholders.
The Points Guy puts 25,000 Ultimate Rewards at 18,750 Hyatt points under 4:3 rather than 25,000. Other Ultimate Rewards partners still transfer at 1:1.
The Points Guy says frequent Hyatt transfers from those cards are a reason to hold a World of Hyatt card and earn Hyatt points directly. The personal World of Hyatt card carries a $95 annual fee and a Category 1 through 4 anniversary night. The World of Hyatt Business card has a $199 annual fee and no free night award.
If Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred points usually go to Hyatt, earn Hyatt spend on a World of Hyatt card and keep the Chase card for partners that remain 1:1.
