What happened
LifeMiles members who received a promotional email can buy miles with a bonus of up to 145% from August 19 through August 27, 2026. The offer is limited to that recipient and is non-transferable. Members residing in listed Latin American countries are excluded.
Each 1,000-mile block costs $33.00 excluding taxes. The bonus reaches 145% on purchases of 51,000 to 200,000 miles. Cost at that bonus is 1.35 US cents per mile, above some 2025-2026 LifeMiles sales. Buys of 1,000 to 20,000 miles carry a 125% bonus. The per-transaction maximum is 200,000 miles before bonus. A calendar-year total over 1,000,000 miles including bonuses posts without the extra. Purchases are non-refundable and non-reversible. Miles post immediately and can expire even after a redemption.
The promotional email cites an August 24 end date while the terms run through August 27. LifeMiles can still ticket Star Alliance premium-cabin awards, but space has been inconsistent.
Purchase only against an award that can be booked today, and check the terms for the end date before paying.
