Avelo will fly McKinney to Denver from Dec. 16, 2026

What happened

Avelo will begin Denver and Atlanta flights from unopened McKinney National Airport on Dec. 16, 2026, four days a week. Nashville and New Orleans follow from Dec. 17, twice a week. Avelo has not flown to Denver before.

McKinney sits 35 miles from DFW and Dallas Love Field in the far northeast of the Dallas metro and would become the region's third commercial airport. Avelo's first flights from DTX remain set for Nov. 11. The FAA issued a commercial operating certificate on Sept. 26. Three Boeing 737-800s with 186 seats each are planned for the DTX base by December. No other airline has said it will serve the airport.

The ultra-low-cost carrier is not a major transferable-points partner. Watch for McKinney fares once tickets go on sale, Denver in particular from mid-December.
