Atmos Rewards now charges only taxes for lap infants on 027 stock

Multiple sources

What happened

Atmos Rewards now prices a lap infant at government international taxes only on long-haul award tickets issued on Alaska or Hawaiian 027 stock, including partner-airline flights. There is no fare-percentage fee and no points charge.

Children under 2 traveling without their own seat are eligible. The award must be issued on 027 stock. Otherwise the ticketing carrier's infant policy applies. Most programs still collect 10% of the adult cash fare plus taxes. International cash tickets still trigger that 10% charge, so an Atmos award can be the cheaper family option. Lap infants already fly at no extra charge on domestic awards operated by Alaska and Hawaiian.

The infant has to be added by calling Atmos Rewards rather than fully online. Alaska updated its site to limit the tax-only rule to long-haul international bookings. A spokesperson confirmed the rule for other-airline metal on 027 stock.

Ticket the award on 027 stock and add the infant by phone to pay only taxes.
