What happened

American Express has informed media partners that it will cease cooperation with Lufthansa, ending lounge access for eligible Amex cardholders. Effective October 1, 2026, Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders will no longer be able to access Lufthansa Senator and First Class Lounges at German airports. This partnership had been in place for roughly seven years and was a primary way for non-status holders to access premium lounges in Germany. Amex notes that cardholders retain access to over 1,550 other lounges worldwide, including Centurion Lounges, Delta Sky Club, Priority Pass, and others
