American Airlines adds Vienna and Porto from Philadelphia for 2027

What happened

American Airlines put tickets on sale for new summer 2027 international routes, with Philadelphia to Reykjavik returning for the first time since 2019. First-ever flights from that hub to Vienna start the same season. Porto is new as well.

JFK gains a nonstop to Amsterdam. Nice on the French Riviera gets JFK service. Chicago to Tokyo Narita is timed for cherry blossom season and feeds Japan Airlines connections across Asia. Charlotte to Paris CDG and Miami to Milan MXP start as seasonal flights on March 4, 2027 to meet spring-break demand. From March 28 American plans a fourth daily JFK to Heathrow flight on a 787-9 fitted with Flagship Suite seats. Barcelona from Charlotte follows on May 27. The aircraft is a 777-200ER.

A321XLR or A321neo aircraft will cover several of the new Philadelphia and JFK Europe routes. New transatlantic and Japan nonstops from major hubs create extra cash and award paths, including cities American has never served. Book 2027 Europe or Tokyo flights on AA.com or the American app.
