Why it matters
Affects 2 airline programs (Air Seychelles, Etihad).
What happened
Air Seychelles is launching a temporary long-haul service between Mahe (SEZ) and Paris (CDG) from March 22 to April 29, 2026. The airline, which lacks a widebody aircraft of its own, is leasing an Etihad Boeing 787-9 for this period. Flights operate 3x weekly (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays) with HM1008 departing Mahe at 9:00 AM and HM1007 returning from Paris at 7:30 PM. The service marks a resumption of the route, which was last flown until 2018. The aircraft features 290 seats (28 business, 262 economy) and is expected to be a wet lease with Etihad crews operating the flights. This move addresses connectivity issues caused by disruptions in Middle Eastern Gulf hubs
