What happened
One Mile at a Time reports Air Canada will drop its longest route, Vancouver to Singapore, on 24 January 2027. The flight covers 7,967 miles with a block time of up to 16 hours 45 minutes and has run 3 to 5 times weekly on a Boeing 787 since April 2024.
After that date there will be no nonstop between Canada and Singapore. Outbound AC019 leaves Vancouver at 11:15pm and arrives in Singapore at 7:00am two days later. One Mile at a Time says origin and destination demand exists but much of it is price sensitive. Asian carriers already sell cheaper connecting itineraries, and connecting traffic is weak on a 787 this long. Higher jet fuel prices were the last straw for a route that was already a poor fit. Vancouver to Bangkok, by contrast, moved from seasonal to year round.
Points travellers lose the only Canada to Singapore nonstop, so awards will have to connect. Book Vancouver to Singapore before 24 January 2027 if the nonstop is what you need.
