Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea has introduced a dynamic fuel pricing mechanism called the "Fair Travel Promise." Under this policy, the airline reviews fuel costs approximately seven days before departure. If oil prices have increased, Volotea may charge passengers an additional fee of up to €9 per passenger, per flight. Conversely, if prices drop, passengers receive a refund. The adjustment is applied to the original payment method. This policy is detailed in Volotea's contract of carriage, which notes that passengers are informed of this possibility during the booking process and authorize the adjustment upon purchase.
