United Restores 2 Routes from Cleveland, Plans Biggest Schedule There in Decade

United Airlines is launching nonstop service from Cleveland (CLE) to Las Vegas (LAS) on Sept. 24 and to Miami (MIA) on Dec. 3, marking its largest CLE schedule in a decade

What happened

United Airlines announced the addition of two new leisure routes from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE). Nonstop service to Las Vegas (LAS) begins Sept. 24, operating year-round. Nonstop service to Miami (MIA) begins Dec. 3, running only during peak winter months through early April. Both routes will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays using Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Tickets go on sale this evening. This expansion is part of United's effort to grow its presence in Cleveland, where it previously operated a hub until 2014. The airline faces competition on both routes from Southwest, Frontier, and American Airlines
