What happened
United MileagePlus is selling miles to targeted members at as low as 1.88 cents each through October 31, 2026. Some accounts get a 100% bonus. Others are seeing a 95% bonus. Bonus percentage and pricing vary by member.
Purchases are capped at 50,000 miles during the promotion and in any consecutive 90-day period. Annual buys cannot exceed 200,000 miles, and bonus miles count toward that ceiling. The minimum purchase is 2,000 miles at 3.76 cents with no bonus. At least 5,000 miles must be bought to receive any bonus. Under the 100% offer, 5,000 to 24,000 miles earn an 80% bonus, and the top rate requires a 25,000-mile purchase.
Miles can take up to 72 hours to post. They are nonrefundable and do not count toward Premier status. The 50,000-mile cap is too small for a full premium award. Check MileagePlus and family members' offers, and buy only against a specific award that still beats cash at 1.88 cents.
