What happened
TD has begun mailing a Visa Infinite+ replacement to some Aeroplan Visa Infinite cardholders, adding 10 GB of free GigSky global data valid for 15 days once a year. The card number and account agreement stay the same, and Air Canada travel perks are unchanged.
Prince of Travel reports the swap is reaching only some primary and additional cardholders so far. The older 1 GB GigSky grant still arrives each year and remains valid for 15 days, and a 20% discount still applies to later GigSky purchases, for 11 GB of free data a year in total. GigSky is an eSIM with coverage in over 200 countries. Travel Essentials covers low-bandwidth apps and excludes video streaming and video calls. Enrolment must be completed before travel on GigSky's Visa Canada page or through the letter's QR code by adding the Visa card. Nothing in the letter points to a change in annual fee or earn rates.
Watch for a replacement card letter and enrol the 10 GB plan before travelling; the GigSky app can be checked even if no letter has arrived.
