What happened
Garuda Indonesia is selling GarudaMiles to targeted members at 1.075 cents per mile through October 31, 2026, down from the usual 2.15 cents. The 50% discount runs from 30,000 to 150,000 miles and ends at 12:59 p.m. Eastern.
Miles sell in 1,000-mile blocks at a list price of $21.50 per thousand. A 30% discount starts at 8,000 miles. A 40% discount starts at 15,000 miles. Purchases of 1,000 to 7,000 miles get no discount. A single purchase can cover 150,000 miles for $1,612.50 at 50% off. The annual limit is 250,000 miles before any bonus.
Purchased miles are non-refundable and cannot be transferred. They do not count toward membership tier. The 50% rate is targeted, so not every member will see it. Purchases go through Garuda Indonesia's buy-miles portal. Garuda still publishes an award chart, and miles used to upgrade economy to business can sometimes beat buying a business award.
Confirm the 50% offer on the portal, then buy only for a planned award that still beats cash at 1.075 cents a mile.
