What happened
American Airlines is restoring the private restaurant inside its Terminal 4 Flagship Lounge at Los Angeles next week after a closure that began in March 2020, and will now seat qualifying Flagship Business passengers with first class. Dallas and Miami already opened the same access on September 15, 2026.
At LAX, eligible Flagship flying covers Los Angeles to New York JFK and some lie-flat Boston and Miami flights. A regular domestic first-class ticket does not qualify, and business-class access does not include a guest. Lounge entry from AAdvantage or oneworld status still excludes the dining room. AAdvantage Platinum Pro members can redeem 25,000 miles for a pass and Executive Platinum members can redeem 20,000 miles.
View from the Wing notes that a qualifying Flagship Business fare now includes a sit-down room that used to be first-class only, which can beat United base Polaris fares that skip the Polaris Lounge. Delta Basic Business fares lose Delta One lounge access in 2027. Opening the room to business class means more competition for tables.
