SAS announced a significant fleet expansion with an order for 18 Airbus A330-900neo aircraft and the acquisition of an unspecified number of used A330-300s to support near-term growth. The total investment, valued at over USD 10 billion, represents the largest in the airline's history and underscores its commitment to enhancing connectivity between Scandinavia and global markets. The new A330-900neos offer 287–303 seats in a typical 3-class configuration, with 25% less fuel burn per seat than previous generations. The used A330-300s will help bridge the gap until the new fleet arrives. This announcement follows last year's order for 55 Embraer E195-E2 regional aircraft and contributes to the most significant modernization of the SAS fleet in decades
