Philippine Airlines Joins Oneworld Alliance, Expanding AAdvantage and Atmos Redemption Options

Philippine Airlines has signed an MOU to join the Oneworld alliance, allowing American AAdvantage and Alaska Atmos members to redeem miles and use elite status on PAL flights

What happened

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to join the Oneworld alliance, becoming its newest member. This move expands redemption and status benefits for U.S. frequent flyers. For American Airlines AAdvantage members, miles can now be redeemed on PAL flights to Manila and other Asian destinations. AAdvantage elite status perks, including lounge access, priority boarding, and free baggage, will also apply. Alaska Airlines Atmos members will see their partnership deepen, allowing Atmos points to be earned and redeemed on PAL flights with enhanced reciprocity. Other Onewaward currencies like Avios and Asia Miles will also be usable. PAL currently serves five U.S. airports: JFK, LAX, SFO, SEA, and HNL. As the 16th Oneworld carrier, PAL's inclusion enhances connectivity for travelers flying straight to Manila or connecting via Hawaiian Airlines in Honolulu
