What happened
After 777X delays ended a late-2025 debut on the 777-9, Qatar Airways will introduce Qsuite Next Gen business class in mid-2027 on remaining new Airbus A350-1000s, One Mile at a Time reports.
The cabin was unveiled in July 2024 as an evolution of current Qsuites rather than a full redesign. The staggered mix of forward- and rear-facing seats remains. A movable 4K OLED screen can slide aside to form a shared suite, and the lie-flat seat is larger.
Existing A350-1000s are not planned for retrofit. Qatar has 60 Boeing 777-9s on order, but 777X certification is still incomplete and first delivery could slip past late 2027. Those jets may also get a new first class. Fleet business-class products will be less consistent as a result.
Nothing is bookable yet. Watch mid-2027 A350-1000 deliveries for Qsuite Next Gen and do not expect today's long-haul aircraft to be upgraded.
