What happened
The Trump administration has reopened Global Entry across the board as of 5AM ET on March 11, 2026. The program had been suspended on February 22, 2026, by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) due to the partial government shutdown, with the justification that resources were needed to prioritize the general traveling population. While TSA PreCheck was reversed almost immediately, Global Entry remained closed for 17 days. The reopening restores expedited immigration processing for travelers returning to the United States
